The “Practical Skills in Prescribing Medicinal Cannabis” activity has been accredited (Activity no: 195701) by the The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) for the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program in the 2020-22 triennium. Fellow GP members of the RACGP are eligible to claim 40 CPD Accredited points. It is a requirement of the RACGP that members who wish to claim these points provide their RACGP number when applying for this course. Other health professionals may also apply for self-directed CPD point for their particular profession.

- Discuss the therapeutic properties of medicinal cannabis
- Discuss treatment considerations, dosing and titration to ensure patient safety during cannabis treatment
- Evaluate the clinical applications of medicinal cannabis in General Practice
- Identify appropriate strategies of patient management and current legislation including prescribing, and patient access pathways
- Differentiate between adverse and therapeutic effects of medicinal cannabis
